New York bus hanging on expressway after accident in the Bronx | United States News

A New York City bus was suspended on an overpass after hitting the Cross-Bronx expressway exit, the New York Emergency Management reported Thursday night.

Seven people suffered minor injuries in the accident, a police spokesman told NBC New York. The fire department confirmed that there were several units at the scene. All the injured were bus passengers. They have already been transported to the hospital.

New York board member Mark D Levine wrote on Twitter that emergency services cordoned off the area in response to the incident. The NYEM agency reported that a bus collision occurred in the area of ​​the Cross-Bronx and University Avenue expressway and asked people to avoid the area.

Images of the articulated bus posted on social media showed the bus splitting along the articulation joint, with the front of the bus balancing on the road below, while the back of the bus remained on the overpass. It was not clear how many people were on the bus or how many were injured.
