New war zone sniper reticule breaks the game completely

A new Warzone bug is causing the title’s frame rate to drop completely, so much so that it almost breaks the entire game, and it appears to be due to the use of a certain optical sight in sniper rifles.

At this point, the bugs in Warzone are not only surprising, they are expected. It seems that every time there is an update, a new game-breaking bug appears or an old one gets up.

Now, a new bug affecting the Battle Royale game seems to bring the frame rate down to unplayable levels. The bug was first discovered by Reddit user eggybread_1, whose game frame rate suddenly dropped to unplayable levels as soon as he equipped the Tundra sniper rifle.

This happened while he was falling in Verdansk and the bug prevented him from opening his parachute, which means that he fell straight to the ground.

Cold War Bullseye Reticulum Breaking War Zone

Interestingly, after the player fell and was knocked down, they were able to change classes and fire their assault rifle, which is also not normal.

Then, once the player in the video unequipped the Tundra and chose a different class in the middle of the game, the frame rate returned to normal, making the situation even more perplexed and frustrating.

Upon further inspection by the community, it appears that the problem boils down to the Bullseye optical reticle, which can be fitted to any Cold War Black Ops sniper rifle. This has been confirmed and replicated by other players, so it is a widespread problem.

The Bullseye reticule appears to be causing a frame rate problem within the Warzone.

The Bullseye crosshair was added to the game as part of the Black Ops Cold War Season 1 battle pass, where players could unlock it on Tier 88. The crosshair has not caused any problems so far, so these framerate issues are a little strange.

At the time of writing, neither Raven nor Activision commented on the bug, so it is unknown how long it will take for the problem to be fixed.

It is also unknown whether this is linked to a specific platform or whether everyone can be affected. Until then, players must be cautious when using this reticle.
