In the video, Romney can be seen walking towards the Senate Chamber. Goodman is running towards him and can be seen shouting orders as he passes, causing Romney to turn quickly and run for safety.

“Officer Goodman overtakes Senator Mitt Romney and instructs him to turn around to be safe,” said Plaskett.

“On the first floor, just below them, the crowd had already started the search for the Senate Chamber. Officer Goodman went down to the first floor, where he met the same rebels we just saw breaking into the Capitol, ”she said.

A bipartisan bill was presented to the Senate to award Goodman the Congressional Gold Medal for his actions during the unrest.
