New version of Windows Insider adds some minor improvements

Microsoft has released a new build of Windows Insider Program Dev, which you must remember that does not match any specific version of Windows. But, unlike the most recent Dev builds, there are some minor improvements and changes.

They are:

News and interests reach more markets. The so-called “taskbar news and interest experience” is now available in “a wider set of languages and international markets”. Previously, it was available only in the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia and India. It is not clear what these languages and markets are; we just know that it is not available in China.

Microsoft Edge replaces Microsoft Edge Legacy. No surprise here, but I suppose the big news is that Legacy Edge is finally gone forever.

Input Method Editor (IME) improvements. Microsoft is redesigning its IME to be more modern, with an optimized font size and faster access to emojis. Annoyingly, the Insider Program is also A / B testing this change because it hates to do the right thing.

In addition, there are several fixes, including this fun one: The display product version is now “Dev”, as the Dev channel is not compatible with any future version of Windows 10. It is definitely not “Windows 10 vNext”, for example . (This would be the Beta channel, normally.)
