New trailers: In the Heights, the documentary WeWork, Concrete Cowboy and more

So, I totally failed to try not to watch cannibal just before going to sleep; definitely creates strange dreams, but it’s so Good. I’m in the middle of the 2nd season and getting very nervous with some of the characters that I don’t remember Silence of the innocents and / or Red Dragon. I also haveand promising young woman in line and trying to avoid spoilers for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier until I can watch the first episode. Honestly, there is too much good streaming content to keep up.

That said, I’m very excited about this week’s schedule because we have new trailers, in the plural, for On the heights, the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Broadway play (he also wrote another one, which you may have heard of, about Alexander Hamilton). Directed by Jon M. Chu, who directed Crazy Rich Asians, the trailers have many familiar faces from Hamilton, including Miranda as the Piragua Guy, Christopher Jackson (George Washington) as the pilot for Mr. Softee, and as the narrator and main character Usnavi is Anthony Ramos, who played John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. Let’s go…

On the heights

Also starring in On the heights: Corey Hawkins, Melissa Barrera, Olga Merediz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Gregory Diaz IV, Stephanie Beatriz, Dascha Polanco and Jimmy Smits.

In the Heights – Washington Heights trailer

I absolutely I can not wait. On the heights arrives at HBO Max and theaters on June 11 (the trailers say June 18, but Chu announced on Twitter that it would happen in a week):

Yes, there are a few other trailers this week:

WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $ 47 Billion Unicorn

This documentary tells the story of a co-working company that grew and became a big company only to explode in a spectacular way after the launch of its bonkers S-1. There is also a TV program in progress (based on the WeCrashed podcast) which will star Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto, but this document appears to be heavily focused on WeWork CEO Adam Neumann, who was at the center of it all. We work comes to Hulu on April 2nd.

Godzilla vs. Kong

I must note that I think Godzilla would win a direct confrontation with King Kong. This is the latest trailer for the go-big-or-go-home monster movie starring Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry. It is scheduled to arrive at HBO Max on March 31.

Concrete Cowboy

Another film long delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, Concrete Cowboy tells the story of a son who meets with his distant father, who works in a stable in the center of the city, rehabilitating horses. Based on the novel Ghetto Cowboy by G. Neri, Concrete Cowboy it is directed by Ricky Staub and starring Idris Elba (honestly, so fascinating in the trailer), Jharrel Jerome, Byron Bowers, Lorraine Toussaint and Clifford “Method Man” Smith. It arrives on Netflix on April 2nd.

Four good days

Glenn Close is the mother of Mila Kunis’ heroin addict and is trying to help her stay clean once and for all. Glenn Close is so intense in the trailer as the best watchful and concerned mother. Four good days was co-written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia, and is based on the remarkable play How’s Amanda? A story of truth, lies and an American addiction by Eli Saslow’s Washington Post. The film hits theaters on April 30.
