Niernext remastering of – formally titled Nier Replicant see. 1.22474487139… – has a new trailer extended before the game’s release on April 23 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
The trailer is in Japanese, so this is for hardcore Nier fans (is there another type?), but even if you’re not fluent in the language, the trailer shows the game’s cinematics, combat and world design. Toylogic is taking over the remastering project for the publisher Square Enix.
Chris Plante, Polygon resident Nier obsessive, he noted in December that “the look and feel of Nier’s games has kept a bunch of potential fans out of Nier’s universe.” So the remastered Nier Replicant see. 1.22474487139… has the opportunity to “break that barrier with a visually extravagant and mechanically welcoming experience”.
Nier released in April 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; its sequel, Nier: automata, was developed by PlatinumGames and released in 2017.
