Wonderful

Saturday brought us a new Black Widow trailer and a closer look at Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff on next box office success, now scheduled for July 9 this year.

Black Widow marks the first independent film for Johansson’s character and opens Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also stars Florence Pugh as the murderer / sister Yelena Belova. David Harbor plays the fatherly character Alexei Shostakov, also known as the Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is his wife, Melina.

Set after the events of Captain America 2016: Civil War, Black Widow opposes Romanoff against supervillain foreman.

The film is just one of the many lagging behind by coronavirus pandemic since March last year. The new clip ends by announcing the release date on July 9 and says, “Try it out in theaters or order it at Disney Plus Premier Access (additional fee required).”

Cate Shortland directs the Black Widow, making her the first female director Marvel hired to direct a live action feature film alone. Shortland is best known for her films led by women, Lore and Berlin Syndrome.
