The researchers revealed a new potential symptom of COVID-19 – “COVID language”.
What is happening?
A British researcher said recently that there have been more reported cases of people experiencing discoloration of the tongue, swelling and other oral problems.
- The researcher – Tim Spector, a professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London – called the experience “the COVID language”.
- “I see an increasing number of COVID languages and strange mouth ulcers. If you have a strange symptom or even just a headache and fatigue, stay home! ” he said.
One in five people with Covid still have less common symptoms that do not appear on the official PHE list – such as rashes. I see an increasing number of Covid tongues and strange mouth ulcers. Spector said that more than a third of patients with COVID-19 – about 35% – had non-classic symptoms in the first three days of infection.
- He said COVID-19’s toes, rashes and other warning signs should not be ignored.
- “It is a good reminder that there are many different manifestations of this virus, instead of just the classic ones,” Spector told NBC News.
Most exclusive issues with COVID-19
In December, several experts identified a rare consequence of the new coronavirus – its teeth falling out, as well as aggravated dental problems, according to The New York Times.
Survivors of COVID-19 reported seeing tooth loss as a result of the virus, The New York Times reported.
- “Gum disease is very sensitive to hyperinflammatory reactions, and COVID long trucks certainly fall into that category,” Scherer told The New York Times.
“COVID toes” was another symptom reported in April, about which I wrote for Deseret News. This was explained as a “presence of purple or blue lesions on a patient’s feet and toes,” according to USA Today.
