New South Carolina Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer completes the team

COLOMBIA, SC – South Carolina’s new football coach, Shane Beamer, made the final signings for his team on the field.

Beamer hired Marshall’s offensive line coach, Greg Adkins, for the same job with the Gamecocks. He had previously hired Illinois defense coach Jimmy Lindsey to deal with the South Carolina defensive line and Torrian Gray, the Florida defense coach, to lead the secondary.

The school’s board of trustees approved the Adkins and Lindsey contracts on Friday. Adkins received a two-year contract at $ 550,000 per season, while Lindsey will earn $ 350,000 per season in his two-year contract.

Gray had received a three-year contract. He will earn $ 350,000 this season, $ 475,000 in 2022 and $ 500,000 in 2023.

Beamer, the coach first hired in December to replace Will Muschamp, announced that his team would include offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, offensive coach Will Friend and defensive coach Tracy Rocker. All three ended up leaving to join Auburn’s new coach, Bryan Harsin.

Marcus Satterfield, who spent the last season on the Carolina Panthers team, takes Bobo’s place as offensive coordinator and defender coach.

Clayton White of Western Kentucky is Beamer’s defensive coordinator.

Satterfield’s contract is for two years, while White’s is for three. Both coordinators will earn $ 900,000 per season.

The board also approved increases of $ 120,000 per year for running back coach Des Kitchings and defensive lineback coach Mike Peterson, who will earn them $ 420,000.

In all, South Carolina will spend $ 5,000,000 on 10 football assistants on the pitch this season.
