Several Silent Hill projects may be underway with third-party developers, according to speculation generated by comments from The Medium’s developer, Bloober Team, as well as a report by VideoGamesChronicle. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz Bloober Team said it is working on “another terror IP” with a “very famous publisher”. Fans began to speculate by joining the two news reports that Team Bloober may be working on a Silent Hill project.“(We) have been working on another game project, another horror IP, for more than a year, and we are doing this with a very famous game publisher,” Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno told GamesIndustry.biz. “I can’t tell you who. I can’t tell you what the project is, but I’m sure that when people realize that we are working on it, they will be very excited.”
VGC sources told the publication that Konami, the publisher with the rights to the Silent Hill franchise, has already outsourced a Silent Hill project to a prominent Japanese developer to be revealed this summer. If necessary, along with speculation surrounding the Bloober Team, then several Silent Hill projects may appear to be underway.
It is important to note that the idea of the Bloober Team working on a Silent Hill game is unconfirmed and more speculative, as fans are putting Babieno’s comments and the VCG report of several Silent Hill projects together to create this theory.
