New Resident Evil movie title officially unveiled

The official title for the next Resident Evil film by director Johannes Roberts will be officially called “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.” IGN learned the official title of the next film from Roberts himself during an interview at the SXSW online event. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is an adaptation of the first two Resident Evil games and will include main characters from both titles, including Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy.Set in 1998, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will feature the events of the city besieged by infected zombies. Both the Resident Evil 1 mansion and the city itself and the Resident Evil 2 police station will be present in the film.

There are many Resident Evil films and adaptations in progress, so to clear the air, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is a new feature film that has nothing to do with the franchise previously directed by Paul WS Anderson and starring Mila. Jovovich.

Constantin Film, the same production company that produced the first Resident Evil film franchise, is working on Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. The film has already announced who chose the cast for their main roles that you can check out in the gallery below.

Resident Evil Origin Cast Comparison

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City should not be confused with some ongoing projects on Netflix, including the CGI animated film Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness and a Resident Evil TV series with Wesker’s children.
