The PS5 is almost three months after launch, and with 2021 in full swing, the PlayStation Store is starting to increase its digital offerings and promotions. The Critical choice sale is the latest promotion on PlayStation Store, adding more than 100 offers on games, packages and DLC, and there are some great options available. This is a good opportunity for PS5 owners to get deals on the latest and current generation games to play on their new console, but of course, there is a lot here for PS4 owners too. Selling the critics’ choice goes as far as February 18th, so be sure to check it out and pick up anything on your wish list before that.
The sale includes several cross-generation games that were released on PS4 and come with free PS5 updates, such as Ubisoft’s Breath of the Wild inspired adventure, Immortals Fenyx Rising, which dropped to $ 36. You can also get Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for $ 30 and $ 40, respectively. Meanwhile, Destiny 2’s latest major expansion, Beyond Light, goes on sale for $ 26.79, while Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition is discounted at $ 36.
A hidden gem in this sale: The Pathless by Annapurna Interactive, which was released with the PS5 last November. While also available on PS4, the open-world action-adventure game looks impressive on PS5 and makes full use of the tactile feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller. Pathless dropped to $ 32 (from $ 40) on this sale, the first discount we can remember seeing on its digital edition.
Game offers with the best reviews from the critics
Some of the best games from the latest generation of consoles are also getting huge discounts this week, including our Game of the Year 2019, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The latest game from developer Dark Souls From Software dropped to $ 39 this week, and you will receive the edition of the game of the year with a bonus DLC. Resident Evil 7 dropped to $ 10 and is an excellent choice for those who lost and want to play Resident Evil Village. You can also get Red Dead Redemption II for $ 30, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 for $ 30, and Doom Eternal and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for less than $ 20 each.
