New Pokémon Snap Gameplay Reveals New Features

The gameplay of the new Pokémon Snap revealed new features, including tools, photo editing and more. Shown during today’s Pokémon Presents broadcast, the gameplay showed the game’s photo editing mode, which will allow you to change, decorate and share your photos. Photos can be evaluated by other players online and even submitted by the developers. The AI score for shots was shown to be assessed on pose, size, direction, placement, other Pokémon and background, granting a point score and a star rating. Photos will also be used to fill a Photodex Pokémon.

There are also new tools in the form of Illumina Orbs, items that can make the Pokémon shine and change its elemental effects – presumably for higher photo scores. We also see fruits being played and melodies being played to trigger new Pokémon gestures.

The story of the game is not entirely clear, but we see the mythical Pokémon Celebi appearing at the end of the new trailer. New Pokémon Snap will be released on April 30.
