Microsoft has updated its unified Office mobile app to work on Apple iPad devices. The new Office app combines Word, Excel and PowerPoint into a single app and was originally released for iOS and Android in 2019. Microsoft has been gradually improving it since then, but it always worked in windowed mode instead of a fully optimized iPad app .
This new update means that Office is now a complete iPadOS app, with access to all regular tablet variants of the Microsoft productivity suite. The application also includes some useful tools designed primarily for mobile tasks. This includes the ability to create PDFs or sign documents quickly, convert images to text and tables and faster actions.
Microsoft has simplified its mobile Office offerings in this unique application, but standalone applications for Word, Excel and PowerPoint are still available and are updated regularly. Although it took a while for the main Office application to be compatible with the iPad, Microsoft recently added many iPad-specific features to Office applications, including mouse and trackpad support.
