New Mexico reports 5 new deaths, 263 additional cases of COVID-19

  • A woman in her 60s in Bernalillo County. The individual was a resident of the South Valley Care Center in Albuquerque.
  • Woman in her 70s from the county of Chaves. The individual had underlying conditions.
  • A second woman in her 70s in the municipality of Chaves. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
  • A woman in her 40s in San Juan County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
  • A man in his 60s in Santa Fe County. The individual was hospitalized.

The death toll of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 3,877.

In addition to the deaths, the state reported 263 additional cases of COVID-19. As of Thursday, New Mexico had reported a total of 189,158 cases.

  • 92 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 1 new case in the municipality of Chaves
  • 10 new cases in Cibola County
  • 2 new cases in Curry County
  • 40 new cases in Doña Ana County
  • 10 new cases in Eddy County
  • 5 new cases in Grant County
  • 6 new cases in Lea County
  • 1 new case in Los Alamos County
  • 1 new case in Luna County
  • 13 new cases in Otero County
  • 2 new cases in the municipality of Rio Arriba
  • 21 new cases in Sandoval County
  • 4 new cases in San Juan County
  • 7 new cases in San Miguel County
  • 14 new cases in Santa Fe County
  • 1 new case in Taos County
  • 1 new case in Torrance County
  • 23 new cases in Valencia County
  • 1 new case among inmates from the New Mexico Department of Corrections at the New Mexico Correctional Center in Valencia County
  • 1 new case among New Mexico Department of Corrections inmates at Lea County Correctional Center
  • 7 new cases among inmates from the New Mexico Department of Corrections at the Southern New Mexico Correctional Center in Doña Ana County

KOB 4 determined that there was 2.3% positivity in the tests analyzed in Thursday’s state report.

The state reports that 138 individuals are being hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19.

As of Thursday, there were 169,889 cases of COVID-19 designated as having been recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
