New Mexico reports 19 new deaths, 209 additional cases of COVID-19

  • A third man in his 70s in the county of Doña Ana. The individual was hospitalized and had basic illnesses.
  • A man in his 80s in the county of Doña Ana. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A woman in her fifties in Eddy County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his fifties in Eddy County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
  • A man in his 50s in Lea County.
  • A woman in her 60s in Lea County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his 60s in Lea County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his 70s in Lea County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his 80s in Lea County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
  • A man in his fifties in Luna County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A second man in his fifties in Luna County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A third man in his fifties in Luna County. The individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his 70s in Otero County. The individual had underlying conditions.
  • A man in his 30s in Valencia County. The individual was hospitalized.

The death toll of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 3,830. The New Mexico Department of Health reports that it received 14 death certificates from the state of Texas on March 8. They were issued between 1/20/2021 and 2/20/2021. The deaths are included in Tuesday’s update.

In addition to the deaths, the state reported an additional 209 cases of COVID-19. As of Tuesday, New Mexico has reported a total of 187,238 cases.

  • 37 new cases in Doña Ana County
  • 6 new cases in Eddy County

  • 6 new cases in McKinley County
  • 12 new cases in Otero County
  • 5 new cases in the municipality of Rio Arriba
  • 12 new cases in Sandoval County
  • 3 new cases in San Juan County
  • 2 new cases in San Miguel County
  • 12 new cases in Santa Fe County
  • 1 new case in Taos County
  • 3 new cases in Union County
  • 9 new cases in Valencia County

The state reports that 128 people are being hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19.

As of Tuesday, there were 158,616 COVID-19 cases designated as having been recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
