Phase 1C includes:
A. People aged 60 or over
B. Essential workers not included in Phase 1B and who are unable to work remotely:
- Companies that store, transport or deliver goods or services directly to homes, retailers, government institutions or key companies (auto repair shops, bicycle repair shops and retailers that generate most of the revenue from selling auto repair products or bicycles, airlines and airport operations, taxis and other private transport providers, transportation network companies)
- Utilities, including contractors, suppliers and support operations, involved in power generation, fuel supply and transmission, water and sewage supply
- Food service personnel not included in Phase 1B, including restaurants and fast service food operations and food preparation centers
- Consumer goods, retail
- Financial / banking personnel, including banks, credit unions, insurance companies, payroll services, brokerage services and investment management firms
- Information and communication technology personnel
- Energy industry personnel
- Legal and accounting staff
- Media staff
- Veterinary and livestock services, animal shelters and facilities that provide adoption, grooming, childcare or accommodation services for pets
Phase 2 of the vaccine distribution, which will include members of the general public not included in the above categories, is likely to become eligible in late April, according to state officials.
The state Department of Health said the transition is possible because more than 60% of currently eligible groups received their first dose of vaccine.
“By expanding the group of new Mexicans eligible for the vaccine, we can maintain momentum and ensure that New Mexico remains one of the country’s vaccination leaders. At the same time, we will redouble our efforts to reach and vaccinate the elderly and others in the early stages who have not yet received their vaccines, ”said DOH Secretary Dr Tracie Collins.
