SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced on Friday 659 additional cases of COVID-19. According to the State Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

· 8 new cases in the municipality of Chaves
· 1 new case in Cibola County
· 10 new cases in Colfax County
· 3 new cases in Curry County
· 58 new cases in Doña Ana County
· 25 new cases in Eddy County

The Department of Health reported on Friday fourteen additional deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19:
· Woman in her 80s in Bernalillo County. The individual was hospitalized.
· A second woman in her 80s in Bernalillo County. The individual was a resident of Life Spire Assisted Living North Albuquerque Acres in Albuquerque.
· An 80-year-old man from Bernalillo County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
· Woman in her 90s in Bernalillo County. The individual had underlying diseases and was a resident of Ravenna Assisted Living in Albuquerque.
· A second woman in her 90s in Bernalillo County. The individual resided at the Princeton Place facility in Albuquerque.
· A 90-year-old man from Bernalillo County.
· A man in his fifties in the county of Doña Ana. The individual had underlying conditions.
· A 70-year-old man from Doña Ana County. The individual had underlying conditions.
· A woman in her 60s from McKinley County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
· A woman in her 90s in Otero County.
· Woman in her 60s in the county of San Juan.
· A man in his 90s in Sierra County. The individual had underlying diseases and was a resident of the Sierra Health Care Center in Truth or Consequences.
· A woman in her 70s in the county of Valencia. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
· A man in his 90s in Valencia County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying diseases.
The death toll of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 3,685.

The Department of Health has detected spread across the community in the state of New Mexico and is investigating cases with no known exposure. The agency reports that, given the infectious nature of the virus, other residents are likely to be infected, but have not yet been tested or confirmed as positive. For this purpose, all new Mexicans have been instructed to stay at home, except for tours absolutely necessary for health, safety and well-being. These additional restrictions have been enacted to aggressively minimize person-to-person contact and ensure that the spread is mitigated. New Mexicans are strongly encouraged to limit travel to only what is necessary for health, safety and well-being.
The New Mexico Department of Health has active investigations into positive patients, including contact tracking and smears from symptomatic individuals who have had contact with positive cases.
