Marvel Avengers players received a new update this week that should improve performance and resolve some issues that were causing players to crash games. The same update added a notification that will notify players if their drivers are out of date, which can lead to problems with the game. Unfortunately for those who play on consoles, the update is only available for the PC platform via Steam, so there is no multiplatform update to speak of at this time.
The patch notes for the V1.4.1.26 update were shared via the game’s community page on Steam to detail exactly what was different after the patch was released. At a glance at the patch notes, it’s much more of a maintenance update that addresses the issues players are experiencing, as opposed to any substantial updates with new features to check. For those who are experiencing some of the problems described in the patch notes, however, it will be a welcome release.

Marvel Avengers V1.4.1.26 Steam update patch notes
- Performance and stability improvements, this patch resolves some DEVICE_HUNG crash reports.
- NVIDIA DLSS in Marvel’s Avengers now supports Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS). When DRS is enabled in conjunction with DLSS, DLSS dynamically adjusts the rendering resolution to provide maximum image quality while maintaining the desired frame rate.
- When determining the settings at the initial run of the game, or when resetting the settings to the default, the game will now set defaults best suited to your machine. The selected output resolution will take into account the power of the GPU, the dynamic resolution scale will be set to 60 fps on hardware with sufficient capacity and DLSS will be enabled by default on all hardware that supports it.
- The game now warns players on NVIDIA hardware with drivers prior to 461.09 to update. These drivers contain fixes that are important to the solid performance and stability of the Marvel Avengers.
Marvel Avengers players on all platforms have a Hawkeye War Table event to wait for which will soon share more information about the next DLC. To help retain players until then, Crystal Dynamics offered a free Kate Bishop package for players to redeem.
