A New Jersey academy owner and former fighter who called attention for defying the COVID blockade was arrested for his role in the Capitol riot on Friday after several people identified him for the FBI, according to documents from the FBI. court.
Scott Kevin Fairlamb of Stockholm, NJ, who fought under the name “Wildman”, was charged in a federal court in Washington, DC, with assaulting a federal officer and carrying a dangerous weapon, according to documents.
The arrest statement described contacts of four concerned citizens who told the FBI that Fairlamb was on Capitol Hill that day and posted videos of himself on Facebook that he later deleted.

At least one person uploaded a video that allegedly showed Fairlamb pushing and punching an officer on the West Capitol Front. Fairlamb owns the Fairlamb Fit in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. He told CBS New York in May that he planned to reopen his gym in defiance of the state’s COVID blockade because Governor Phil Murphy “overstepped his limits” by ordering the closure.

The academy’s website claims that Fairlamb was a “top fighter” until he was diagnosed with a form of leukemia while training for his MMA debut. MMA website Sherdog says Fairlamb fought under the nickname “Wildman”.
Judge James B. Clark III ordered the release of Fairlamb on $ 50,000 unsecured bail and subject to home detention with electronic monitoring, NJ.com reported.
