Disney + ‘s WandaVision Series has been (mostly) an animated television event for the Scarlet Witch and her syntezoid husband. They experienced all the imposed happiness that comedies of the 50s, 60s and 70s were built, but a clip from Friday’s next episode looks like it will explore what’s behind the TV veneer …or rather, what is around this.

If you remember at the end of last week’s episode, Teyonah Parris’ Geraldine was literally thrown out of the city of Westview – and the mysterious bubble around it – apparently for bringing up Wanda’s brother and his death at the hands of Ultron in Ultron era. This clip, which seems to be set previous for that event, apparently confirms many things that we were already confident in, but still gets a surprise or two.

“Geraldine” – better known in the reality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Monica Rambeau, adult daughter of Captain Marvelis Maria Rambeau and, in the comics, herself a superhero—And SHIELD agent Jimmy Choo (Randall Park) is clearly encountering the Westview bubble for the first time here, before Monica, voluntarily or involuntarily, is sucked into distorted television reality. And if last week’s necklace tip wasn’t enough, it is worth mentioning that Monica is indeed wearing a T-shirt with the SWORD logo, which presumably means that she is part of the Department of Observation and Response to the Sentient World.

SWORD, the extraterrestrial sister agency to SHIELD in the comics, he first got his great provocation in the MCU at the end of Spider-Man: away from homewith the film apparently suggesting its arrival in the form of the new organization directed by Nick Fury and a legion of friendly Skrulls via spaceship in it is post-credits scene. (In fact, I suspect that Jimmy was also transferred to SWORD, at least for the sake of simplicity.) Nothing shocking about that, at least so far.

However, there are some interesting things in the clip. First, there is the triumphant return of Dr. Darcy Lewis, who stopped being Jane Foster’s intern in Thor to help SWORD with the WestView situation. And if you check that wall with SWORD dossiers on the townspeople, they all have driver’s licenses attached … except for Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) and Dottie (Emma Caufield), the last of which does not appear to have any dossiers. Hmm. In addition, these licenses are all from New Jersey; in first Vision and the Scarlet Witch comic series from 1982, the couple moved to the suburbs of Leonia, New Jersey, after getting married and retiring from the Avengers.

Ufa! There are many layers. Not bad for a 53 second trailer! We’ll probably see that and more tomorrow when WandaVision returns for the episode 4
