Minutes after unveiling the new CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing, Cadillac had filled all 500 pre-order slots.
According to a Cadillac spokesman who wrote to Carscoops in an email, the CT5-V Blackwing was the first to sell out in a matter of minutes. Of course, Cadillac will be selling more than 250 of each, so anyone who still wants can sign up for the waiting list. If you choose to enter this list, a Cadillac dealer will contact you as soon as inventory is available.
“[On] Monday night, Cadillac’s performance pedigree found another piece of equipment when customers started booking their Blackwings V-Series. The demand is a testament to the engineering and design teams that delivered the greatest track-capacity Cadillacs of all time, ”said Rory Harvey, Cadillac’s global vice president. “This also reflects customers’ passion for our V Series performance brand.”

And it’s no wonder why. The car specification sheets paint an attractive picture. Starting at $ 59,990, the CT4-V Blackwing features a 472 hp twin-turbo V6 and a standard 6-speed manual. Neither the RS3 nor the AMG CLA 45 can keep up, and none is offered with a manual. In fact, it only produces one horsepower less than a larger M3.

The CT5-V Blackwing, in turn, which is expected to compete with the M3, has more power than an M5 CS thanks to its massive 6.2-liter V8. Producing 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque, the CT5-V Blackwing can easily beat the competition and can also be connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. Prices start at $ 84,990.
Cadillac’s technological prowess also means that it won’t just be muscle cars. With the fastest magnetic control ever and with a lot of time spent in the wind tunnel, but it must be quite capable when things get tortuous.
Deliveries for both are set to start this summer.
