New Assassin’s Creed Valhalla patch introduced a bug that breaks the ugly face

Assassin's Creed Valhalla face animation bug

Bloody hell, it looks like the latest update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – patch 1.011 – introduced a rather annoying bug. The aforementioned update focuses on fixes for a large number of (relatively minor) problems, but somehow, it also managed to break the game’s facial animation system. It’s never easy, is it?

The problem appeared on Reddit earlier today, and now that same topic is full of people saying they are encountering the same bug. We had to try it for ourselves and came across the problem almost immediately. Not all scenes in the game appear to be affected by the bug, but those that see non-playable characters unable to move their mouths while speaking. They just stand there looking at Eivor’s soul while words fill the air. It is all terribly disturbing and obviously takes you out of the experience.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has had its fair share of technical problems, and while many of these problems have been resolved in recent months, new bugs are the last thing the open world adventure needs. I hope it’s a quick fix.
