Apple launches an updated model of Apple TV with a focus on strong games, a new remote control and a faster chip
This is not the first time that we have heard of a new Apple TV. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reiterated today in a letter to the press that Apple is planning to launch a new Apple TV with powerful internal components and a strong focus on games, along with an updated remote control. Previously, Gurman stated that Apple is working on a new remote control for Apple TV with Find My features. If this happens, it will be easier for users to find your remote control if it is lost.
As for games, it was also said that Apple could introduce us to a new game controller for Apple TV. At the moment, news on the subject is scarce and we are not familiar with the appearance of the controller. Earlier this year, a leak coined that Apple has a new Apple TV prototype in the works with A12 and A14 processor variants to power it. With the new processors, the game’s performance would be really better.
However, it is not clear whether Apple will decide on a chip or introduce multiple variants of the decoder. The leak also pointed out that Apple may be looking to bring console-quality games to its Apple Arcade service. In addition, the new Apple TV will have twice the storage capacity compared to current models with the baseline model boasting 64 GB of storage capacity.
As mentioned earlier, we have been hearing details about the new Apple TV for some time and, since Apple TV 4K was launched more than three years ago, we assume it is time to update the machine. We are aiming for a launch that will take place sometime next year.
