Data Guide: Impact of COVID-19 in Nevada
State and local health agencies redistribute data after it is reported to better reflect someone’s death date or onset of symptoms, so the moving average’s trend lines generally differ from daily reports. Because of this redistribution, the 14-day average for deaths has steadily declined since it peaked at 39 in mid-January, according to state data.
The state’s two-week positivity rate, which measures the percentage of people tested with COVID-19, dropped to 11.3%, a decrease of 0.5 percentage point from the previous day.
There were 698 people hospitalized in Nevada with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19, 42 unless the day before, state data showed.
Clark County reported on Thursday 424 new cases of coronavirus and 28 additional deaths, according to data published on the Southern Nevada Health District website. The updated figures brought county totals to 223,624 cases and 3,724 deaths.
The county’s two-week positivity rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points to 12.5 percent, state data show. The rate was 1.2 percentage points higher than in the state as a whole.
