The Southern Nevada Health District added groups of people eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Here’s the latest, according to the state’s COVID-19 Vaccine Playbook.
Ages:
Those 65 and older
Occupational layers:
Health workforce
Includes staff working on:
– Hospitals.
– Long-term workers and residents.
– Laboratories.
– Diagnostic imaging.
– Pharmacies.
– Medical / dental services.
– First aid (EMT / paramedics).
Public Safety and Security
– Nevada Department of Corrections staff.
– Law enforcement, public security and national security.
– State and local emergency operations managers / employees.
Frontline community support
– Education (Pre-K & K-12) and day care – public, private and charter school environments.
– Educators, staff and students at the front of the Nevada Higher Education System (NSHE).
– Community support frontline staff (ie frontline workers who support food, shelter, judicial / legal services, social services, public services and other needs of life for groups and individuals in need).
– Governance continuity (state and local).
– Essential public transport: taxi, Uber and Lyft drivers at state and municipal level.
– Remaining essential public health workforce: Public health and environmental workers specializing in sanitary and infection control, health facility security and emergency preparedness planning, public health / community health workers, including call center workers.
– Mortuary services.
Supply chain and logistics front line (added March 2)
– Agriculture, farmers, farm and ranch workers, support for agribusiness, auctions and sales, processing and storage of animal feed, manufacture of veterinary and biological medicines, livestock services and markets, slaughterhouses.
– End-to-end supply chain of essential goods (includes manufacturing, transportation, distribution and sale of essential items) Includes warehouses, processing, packaging and distribution (USPS, FedEx, UPS), couriers, local and long-distance truck drivers, grocery workers, convenience store workers, pharmacy staff, suppliers and critical business continuity support personnel, electrical engineers, security personnel, janitorial staff, e-commerce workers
– Public services and communications infrastructure, including news providers, water and sewage workers, dam workers, internet and mobile services, telephone service providers.
– Nevada Department of Transportation and local road emergency personnel, including CDL operators, street cleaning crews, snowplow drivers, traffic incident management and emergency road crews.
– Essential airport operations, workers who support the air transport of cargo and passengers, including operation, distribution, maintenance and sanitation. Includes air traffic controllers, flight dispatchers, airport operations personnel, flight crews and flight instructors.
– Other essential transports include vehicle repair maintenance and the manufacture and distribution of transport equipment; vehicle sale, rental and leasing and the supply chains that allow these operations to facilitate the continuity of travel-related operations for essential workers. Still to be added to the eligibility list:
– People aged 16 to 64 with homeless and basic illnesses and disabilities.
People aged 16 to 64 are considered healthy.
– Occupational subgroup: Food Service, hospitality, hygiene, construction and mining.
