Netflix says 2021 Slate will bring “a new movie every week”

The 70 titles include originals like ‘Army of the Dead’, directed by Zack Snyder, and the musical ‘Tick, Tick … Boom!’, As well as acquisitions including ‘Malcolm & Marie’.

Netflix has announced titles that will debut on the streaming service in 2021 and is promising “a new movie every week”.

Resources include the one directed by Zack Snyder Army of the Dead, Jennifer Lawrence starrer Don’t look upmusical Tick, Tick … Boom! and Dwayne Johnson action movie Red Warning, among others.

The list also includes acquisitions like Halle Berry’s directorial debut Injured and Malcolm & Marie, and it should grow as the streamer acquires films completed at festivals and elsewhere.

The streamer’s current 2021 list of originals consists of 70 titles – including a trilogy, adapted by RL Stine Rua do Fear – 52 of which are live-action in English, eight of which are cartoons and 10 of which are non-English films.

This is the first time that Netflix has announced a list of annual films from the original film division of the streamer, headed by Scott Stuber since 2017
