The world of DOTA will arrive on Netflix when the streamer announced on Tuesday a new anime series based on Valve’s popular video game franchise.
DOTA: dragon’s blood is an 8-episode series that will be released globally on the streaming platform on March 25. The series will chronicle the achievements of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight dedicated to wiping the scourge off the face of the world. After their own encounters with a powerful elder, eldwurm and the noble princess Mirana on a secret mission of their own, the DOTA 2 character gets involved in events much bigger than he could have ever imagined.
Ashely Edward Miller (X-Men: First Class, Thor and Black candles) will serve as showrunner and executive producer.
“Fans will love how we imagine the DOTA 2 universe and an epic, emotional, adult-oriented story about some of your favorite characters, ”said Miller. “Film animation, acting and music are simply the next level and I am grateful to Valve for supporting our creative ambitions.”
Studio MIR is cheering up, with Ryu Ki Hyun acting as an executive co-producer.
DOTA 2, that Valve released in 2013, is a sequel to the original developer Defense of the ancients (DOTA). The online multiplayer battle arena title of the world’s top online games, which currently hosts millions of players daily and holds multiple eSports tournament prize winning records.
