Nelson Agholor’s wild explosion in the locker room after the Raiders were eliminated

Nelson Agholor summoned his fellow Raiders in a violent post-game locker room explosion last month, according to a story in The Athletic.

Agholor may no longer be an Eagle, but history shows how much Agholor’s experience in Philadelphia has shaped the type of person and type of companion he is now.

Vic Tafur, who covers the Raiders for The Athletic, wrote about Nelly’s reaction after the Raiders exploded an advantage in the 4th quarter against the Dolphins in Week 16, allowing Miami to score three times in the last four minutes of the game.

This was the Raiders’ fifth loss in six games, after an initial 6-3 match and the fourth consecutive loss at home. It dropped to 7-8 and eliminated them from the postseason dispute.

According to Tafur, Agholor addressed his teammates in the locker room before coach Jon Gruden had a chance to speak up and say that they were selfish and that “they sucked,” according to Tafur:

“Agholor, according to those in the room, said that his teammates were selfish and did not work hard enough, and that they had given up against the Dolphins, as in the previous two defeats. He said there was no responsibility in the locker room, and in winning teams, players play for each other and for the coaches. The performance of the Raiders in the previous six games was unacceptable, and many people within the team were simply accepting this. Agholor told his teammates that they sucked. “

According to Tafur, no one else said a word after Agholor spoke and even Gruden did not speak.

Tafur said he asked Gruden about the incident on Thursday night, and Gruden replied simply, “I love Agholor”.

Agholor, the choice of the Eagles ‘first round in 2015, spent his first five seasons in Philadelphia and, although he did not make the most of it, managed 9 passes for 84 yards in the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory over the Patriots after the 2017 season. had three first down receptions from Nick Foles in the winning campaign for the 4th quarter.

Agholor signed a one-year minimum wage contract with the Raiders in the last off-season and managed 48 passes for a 896-yard career record with eight touchdowns.

But the Raiders finished out of the postseason for the third consecutive season under Gruden and for the fourth consecutive season overall.

The Raiders have not won a playoff game since 2002, when their coach was Bill Callahan, who was on Ray Rhodes Eagles’ team with Gruden from 1995 to 1997.

Agholor is a free agent once again in this off-season. Whether he will return to the Raiders remains to be seen, but the story certainly says a lot about Agholor, who had a career of ups and downs, but always took care of the team first, wherever he was.
