ORLANDO, Fla. – As vaccinations continue this week, nearly 2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across the country in the past two weeks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
American officials said their goal was to vaccinate 20 million people by the end of December, although health experts believe the deadline could be short, as the new year is just days away.

“There is no doubt that things are going a little slower than we want. I think we really need to increase vaccines. Take the vaccines to the states, but also take the vaccines from the states into people’s arms, ”said Dr. Ashish Jha of the Brown University School of Public Health.
The Trump administration, through the Department of Health and Human Services and the United States Department of Defense, last week announced the purchase of 100 million doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the Florida DOH vaccination report, 118,764 vaccines have been administered in the state so far.
In Orange County, the data showed 11,963 people in total were vaccinated.
