NCH ​​to start vaccinating people aged 65 and over by appointment on Friday

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – The NCH will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday to people aged 65 and over, the hospital announced on Wednesday.

A link to make appointments via the NCH for the COVID-19 vaccine will be on the air at noon on Thursday, said the head of nursing at the NCH. Appointments will begin on Friday and continue from Monday to Wednesday next week.

1,200 appointment slots will be available between its Baker campus and North Naples, according to NCH.

The NCH received 4,900 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on 23 December. They immediately started vaccinating health workers with direct contact with the patient.

In the initial phase of vaccine administration, the state determined that 15% of the vaccine allocation received should be given to pre-hospital workers, such as paramedics and paramedics, who are at high risk of developing COVID-19. Vaccine administration for this group began on December 31, 2020.

On Wednesday morning, the NCH administered 2,147 vaccines.

The NCH is currently treating 77 patients with COVID-19.

The available service days will be:

  • Monday, January 11
  • Tuesday, January 12
  • Wednesday, January 13

Anyone 65 years of age or older can sign up for a consultation by visiting the COVID Vaccine Update page on the NCH website: www.NCHmd.org.

Appointments will be required to receive the vaccine. Walk-ups will not be allowed.

The NCH said it knows that consultations will be filled quickly. The hospital said it will offer more opportunities in the future as they receive more vaccines.
