NC State loses at Clemson, 74-70

This is probably a basketball game that NC State should have won. Clemson was the most difficult opponent of the Pack he faced up to this point, and a defeat on the way for such a team is nothing to look at too far. A good team won a game played at home as it should, but it leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth knowing that it was there to be won, and NC State just passed.

The Pack was electric in the first half. He got a good guard game, hit all three well and opened the scoring 39-32. Clemson was decidedly the most caught team in the second half, but the Pack, mainly on the free throw line, was able to weather the storm and hold on to a single digit advantage until the final minute, when it melted into its last two possessions. offensive with a chance to save the game.

On top of three, DJ Funderburk took a silly and contested mid-range shot, and the ensuing sequence resulted in Clemson guard and Marvel Universe list B character Nick Honor, tying the game in 62 with a triple. In possession of the ball that followed, Devon Daniels threw a terrible pass to the wrong team.

Daniels was good for most of the game, and Funderburk was also great in the second half. This game definitely doesn’t fall on them just for those two bad strings, but generally, the state needed to get together more to close this one. He played loose and confident most of the night, but closed when the time came for the squeeze.

Thanks to Shakeel Moore ending an isolation game at the bell, the Pack was able to force the overtime, but a silly jump on a Clemson hook with 10 seconds remaining sealed the game. This shot was nowhere near, he jumped about a meter over the edge and just fell. If you don’t deserve to win, the universe will let you know, I suppose.

There is nothing to worry about here. State is very good. This is definitely an NCAA tournament team. Clemson is very good, and State, still a man below, defeated the Tigers at his home for most of the night. Littlejohn is a place where NC State is notorious for just not showing up, but it was the best team for much of the game, but not enough. So it goes.
