Nathaniel Hackett completes interview with Falcons

USA TODAY Sports

Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett said earlier this week that he was ready to become a head coach.

“I think definitely ready, ”Hackett said, through Ryan Wood of Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I think it’s something you are thinking about the minute you enter this profession.”

Hackett interviewed by Falcons, the team announced Thursday night after the interview ended. To date, it is the only major training interview known to Hackett.

Hackett, the offensive coordinator for Bills in 2013-14 and the offensive coordinator of the 2016-18 Jaguars, has spent the past two seasons leading the Packers attack. He doesn’t call the shots, but he has the best reference possible on Aaron Rodgers, who said Thursday “any team would be lucky to have” Hackett as his coach.

The Falcons also interviewed interim coach Raheem Morris, Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and Panther offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
