After the Florida Department of Health in Nassau County received a “very limited” supply of Moderna COVID-19, the county announced a plan to begin distributing the vaccine.
Nassau County Emergency Management Director Greg Foster said on Sunday that the county on Monday will begin a ticket process through Eventbrite, allowing people to obtain a ticket online and receive instructions by email on how to schedule your appointment and where.
Foster said the county decided to follow this process in an attempt to avoid problems with phone line or website failures and prevent residents from having to camp overnight. This was the case in St. Johns County, when the county was operating on a first-come, first-served basis.
Foster said that healthcare professionals with direct contact with the patient, who did not receive the vaccine through their employers, and those aged 65 and over can visit www.OneNassau.com, find “COVID VACCINE” and follow the instructions to start the appointment process.
The county health department will explain to those who receive the injections how and when they will receive the second injection.

According to Foster, supplies are expected to increase in the coming weeks, but may still be limited.
“We receive fewer doses than some counties, so we have focused on distributing the vaccine to those who are most vulnerable in our community, those most in need, as quickly as possible. Now, we can start complying with the governor’s guidelines and start the process of providing vaccines to residents over 65, ”said Foster. “For now, it’s a slow process, but we’re working diligently to get everyone vaccinated.”
The state’s Department of Health has already started distributing vaccines to top medical teams and other health professionals in Nassau County, according to emergency management officials.
