NASCAR Instacart 500: Hendrick Motorsports Leads the Group Towards the Race

Hendrick Motorsports is trying to close its third race of the season with the NASAR Cup Series towards the Phoenix Raceway for the Instacart 500 on Sunday.

Hendrick won two of the four races this season with drivers William Byron and Kyle Larson, but Chase Elliott wants to get his first victory of the year in Phoenix, where he had already won his first Cup Series in November.

“I mean, certainly the Hendrick guys came to play,” said Kyle Busch, a former Hendrick driver who has since won two World Cup championships with Joe Gibbs Racing, according to the Associated Press.

“We have deepened as a group to try to increase our collective knowledge base,” said Chad Knaus, who moved this year to Hendrick’s vice president of competition after nearly two decades as a team leader. “Each team has its own identity, to be sure, and the leeway to do whatever it takes, but they really work together.”

Larson will seek consecutive victories after leaving his first NASCAR victory at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway since he was reinstated from a suspension of almost a year after using a racial slur while participating in an online race last April.

Viewers can tune in on Sunday at 3:30 pm (Eastern Time) on FOX to watch the 312 lap race. Those with a participating TV provider can also watch the race online and on smart devices using the FOX Sports app.
