Who is that hand?
That was the question on viewers’ minds as they watched the 2021 Golden Globe, when a mysterious stunt hand from Tina Fey, who was in New York, reached across the split screen to caress Amy Poehler, stationed in Los Angeles, during the opening monologue.
“Psyched to add an arm model to my resume !!!” makeup artist Molly R. Stern wrote on Instagram, revealing to be the mystical arm.
“When Amy Poehler and Tina Fey ask you to participate in their monologue @goldenglobes, you definitely agree. #ArmModelForHire, ”she added.
Stern, who also did Poehler’s make-up for the ceremony, was part of a joke in the monologue as the presenters scoffed at the show’s first double-staged event.
During the broadcast, the duo was presented on a split screen and Fey, 50, said “the technology is so great that you will never be able to tell the difference” – and went on to pretend that he was caressing Poehler, 49, through the dual screen .
“You won’t even notice,” said Fey, as Stern, who was off camera, stroked Poehler’s hair on Tina’s behalf. “I always knew that my career would end with me walking around the Rainbow Room pretending to talk to Amy.”
The little bit of TV magic left Twitter on their feet as they tried guess who the member belonged to.
“That person was apparently an official member of the weapons model union,” a person joked.
Stern has been in showbiz for some time, having worked in the makeup department on “Swingers” in 1996. More recently, she served as Reese Witherspoon’s makeup artist for “Big Little Lies”, according to IMDb, along with numerous celebrities seen in your Instagram page.
