Musician Michael Milosh, also known as Rhye, was accused by his ex-wife of taking care of her and sexually abusing her.
Milosh denied the accusations, calling them “absurd and outrageous false allegations”.
In Instagram posts, Alexa Nikolas, an actress, accused Milosh of treating her since she was 16, after she praised him through a message on MySpace. She said they started exchanging messages – including “sexual and flirtatious” video calls – until she was 18, when Milosh, then 35, invited her to visit him in Berlin. She accused him of pressuring her to have sex after she initially resisted, saying: “I didn’t respect my no and neither did he”, and then claims that he forced her to perform sexual acts that she resisted.
Their relationship continued, and she and Milosh were married when she was 19. She accused Milosh, who is Canadian, of using the marriage to obtain a visa for the United States and of financial exploitation, physical assault and burning of gas. She also accused him of recording it saying “no” during sex and using a sample of it in Rhye’s music. The couple divorced, with Nikolas accusing Milosh of intimidating behavior during mediation. Nikolas concluded: “To this day, I still suffer from PTSD because of that relationship, even though I doubt my own sanity on some days.”
Milosh released a statement denying Nikolas’ claims, calling them “a piece of revisionist fiction”. He said he was “fully prepared to cooperate with any independent investigation”.
He added: “I always wished her nothing but the best and continued to support her financially, even after I was no longer bound by our divorce agreement. Eventually, I stopped paying [and] in response, Alexa resorted to character murder. “
Nikolas responded to the statement, saying that Milosh was “denying the truth”.
Milosh is a successful and critically acclaimed musician, with hundreds of millions of online streams of his silent R&B music. He started releasing recordings like Rhye in 2013, initially as a duo with producer Robin Hannibal for the debut album Woman. Milosh released three more albums as Rhye, adding to three solo albums under his own name.
Nikolas’ acting career began in childhood, notably with a leading role on Nickelodeon’s TV series Zoey 101. She also appeared in The Walking Dead, Mad Men and Heroes.
