Munna and Musharna are now live on Pokémon GO

The Psychic type Munna Pokémon and its Musharna evolution were launched in Pokémon GO. Many species of Unova remain, however, that did not make their debut in the game, even when the creatures of the next generation Kalos region begin to arrive. When will the remaining Pokémon Unova see daylight?

In October 2020, Bleeding Cool published an article about the Unova species not yet released in Pokémon GO. To examine the recent pace of Unova’s revelation, which now overlaps with the launch of Kalos, let’s revisit this piece and update on the whereabouts of each species:

Munna, Musharna (psychic type)

These two were launched today and, fortunately, break the trend of new releases that are difficult to acquire. Munna is available in raids, Eggs and in nature.

Sandile, Krokorok, Krookodile (solo / dark type)

Speaking of difficult to acquire. Sandile was launched at 12 KM Strange Eggs shortly after the publication of this article, but it has become somewhat notorious as the most difficult species to hatch from these eggs. It’s easier to hatch than, say, a 10 KM Axew, but it’s definitely kind of Pokémon GO is making us chase.

Zorua, Zoroark (dark type)

No sign of this kind, which is perhaps the most beloved of the entire Unova region. With the Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary taking place throughout the year, I bet that its launch is linked to a significant event and that it will be difficult to achieve.

Vanillite, Vanillish, Vanilluxe (type Ice)

Vanillite debuted during the Holiday 2021 event in December 2020 with an incredibly low capture rate for a stage one Pokémon.

Deerling, Sawsbuck (Normal / Grass-type)

Deerling’s autumn and winter forms were launched, with the first manner more available in nature than the latter. I don’t know what happened, but Niantic seems to have made a decision in the middle of the season that Deerling is now a rare species. I have seen as many Noibat in the wild since its launch as I have seen Winter Deerlingg, and Noibat is the rarest Kalos species currently released in Pokémon GO.

Frillish, Jellicent (Water / Ghost type)

They were launched in the GO Battle League for PVP players qualified enough to reach Rank 20. I suspect that Frillish will follow Scraggy’s path and eventually debut outside of GBL rewards.

Tynamo, Eelektrik, Eelektross (electric type)

No signal!

Mienfoo, Mienshao (type of fight)

Nothing.

Druddigon (dragon type)

Any word.

Pawniard, Bisharp (dark / steel type)

Pawniard was released together with Sandile in 12KM Eggs as one of the rarest incubations, but much more obtainable than Sandile itself.

Vullaby, Mandibuzz (dark / flying type)

Vullaby was also introduced into 12 km eggs as a common hatch.

Larvesta, Volcarona (Bug / Fire-type) I

No signal. When this Pokémon is released, it is expected to have a major impact on the meta due to its power as a Fire type.

Keldeo (Water / Combat type)

Meloetta (Normal / Psychic or Normal / Fighting type depending on the shape)

Both are Mythical Pokémon, so expect a long wait. We are still waiting for the fourth generation myths, like Shaymin (in both forms), Phione, Manaphy and Arceus, so I wouldn’t find one of these anytime soon. With Niantic breaking the GO Fest search trend and skipping Generation Mythics in favor of Unovan Mythical Victini last year, who really knows?
