MSI Launches Liquid-Cooled GeForce RTX 30 Sea Hawk Graphics Cards

During its presentation at CES 2021, MSI unveiled its latest GeForce RTX 30 Sea Hawk series graphics cards, which will come in RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 formats. The Sea Hawk series comes with an AIO liquid cooling solution to provide better thermals on the main Ampere video cards.

MSI has revealed a number of technical details, mainly specific to its AIO liquid cooling solution that is featured on Sea Hawk graphics cards. Both GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3080 Sea Hawk cards will be based on an unreferenced PCB design and will come in a dual slot format that is standard for AIO-based solutions. The MSI solution is one of three graphics cards in the RTX 30 series with liquid cooling, with the other two being Kingpin Hybrid from EVGA and Neptune from Colorful. The ASUS ROG STRIX LC variant is so far exclusive to the Radeon RX 6000 series.

Looking at the specs, the two MSI GeForce RTX 30 cards from the Sea Hawk series will feature a solid aluminum cover with a black and silver color scheme. The board has an ASETEK pump equipped with a micro-fin copper base that cools the GPU and VRAM modules. VRMs have their own heat sink, which supplies air through a single Frozr fan located on the roof. The copper base plate has large thermal pads for the memory modules to ensure adequate heat dissipation.

As for the radiator, both MSI GeForce RTX 30 Sea Hawk graphics cards come with a 240 mm design and have a durable piping technology implemented to maintain elasticity under high temperatures and extreme resistance against permeation and corrosion. The radiator is equipped with two MSI Torx Fan 4.0, which offer a 70% increase in air pressure over standard PWM fans while turning at 35db. It also uses Zero Frozr technology to provide lower acoustics when the GPU is not being pressed too hard and remains below 60 ° C. Lastly,

MSI included a back plate on both cards that resembles the design featured in its new line of SUPRIM X Series. MSI did not say a word about the availability or price of these cards, but expects them to reach the market at the end of the first quarter.
