Moto G30 and Moto G10 are official: Quad cameras, large batteries, affordable price

Motorola is certainly one of the most prolific phone makers. Look – in 2021 alone, Motorola launched a total of six phones. These would be the Moto G Play, G Power 2021, Moto G Stylus 2021 e Moto One 5G Ace, that we’ve already reviewed, in addition to the two new top entry devices Moto G10 and Moto G30. Yes, Motorola’s new phones are now official and seemingly bringing exceptional value to the affordable niche, although they are not coming to the US for now. Let’s dive!

Moto G10 and Moto G30: screen and hardware

Unexpectedly, Motorola looks extremely proud of the camera systems of the two new phones. Both the The Moto G10 and Moto G30 feature quad camera systems that aim to cover all bases: in addition to the base wide-angle camera, we have ultra-wide, macro and depth cameras on both devices. This is cool and all, but from a practical point of view, we would love a telephoto solution instead of the macro or the depth sensor, as it is definitely more useful. Still, if you like macro photography or take a lot of portraits, Motorola’s decision may find a strong advocate in you.
Surprisingly, the Moto G10 and G30 feature a 3.5mm audio jack on the top, as well as a dedicated button to access Google Assistant quickly. A USB Type-C port on the bottom ensures connectivity and charging, which is limited to 20 W for Moto G30. Motorola promises up to 12 hours of use after a short 20-minute charge with the stock charging block, which is fortunately included in the box. We are happy that Motorola has not yet followed the antics of Apple and Samsung.

Speaking of hardware, let’s take a quick look at all the specs.

In addition to the cameras, the rest of the hardware also solidifies the mid-range status of the new phones. We have a Snapdragon 662 on the Moto G30 plus premium and a Snapdragon 460 on the Moto G10, both with expandable storage and large screens. However, the 6.5 “LCD screen on the Moto G30 is definitely more impressive thanks to the fast refresh rate of 90 Hz, but the HD + resolution of a measly 720 by 1600 pixels is definitely disappointing. The same applies to the Moto G10 also, which abandons the 90 Hz refresh rate for a traditional 60 Hz experience. In a traditional Motorola style, the Moto G10 and Moto G30 come with physical fingerprint readers on the back, which are adorned with the logo of Motorola’s bat wing.

On the software side, Android 11 is coming out of the box on both devices, garnished with Motorola’s exclusive Actions features, which bring various gestures and smart features to the otherwise clean Android interface.

Moto G10 and Moto G30: Price and availability

At the moment, it looks like the new devices will be available only in Europe, with no word on availability in the United States yet. However, Motorola had already renamed some devices and later launched them in the United States, so it wouldn’t be too strange to assume that the same thing will happen here as well. Otherwise, the Moto G10 will be priced at EUR149.99 in Europe, while the Moto G30 will be priced at EUR179.99. This is the local equivalent of $ 182 and $ 218. It is a very affordable price, which could translate very well into the United States market.
