A new tweet from a developer at NetherRealm Studios Mortal combat and Injustice fans going crazy with speculation. Since it was released Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate in November, NetherRealm Studios was quiet. In place of that silence, there have been rumors and “leaks” pointing to more DLC characters coming to the game mentioned this year, but now, these are just rumors and leaks. In the meantime, there are reasons to believe Injustice 3 will be revealed (and released) very soon. In other words, the hype is growing and, recently, the game’s senior animator, Andy Senesac, took advantage of this hype with a new Twitter post.
Accessing Twitter this week, Senesac revealed that he and his team are back in the motion capture studio dusting the equipment after the pandemic kept them away from the studio for months. In addition, he uses #WhatsInStore, followed by a thoughtful emoji. Naturally, the combination of these two things sent both Injustice and Mortal combat fans through a rabbit hole of speculation.
Obviously, Senesac is causing something here, but there is no real clue as to what it is causing. Some Mortal combat fans pointed out that Senesac is using a Mortal combat shirt, which in turn suggests that this is MK related, but this is a very long stretch.
Of course, it is quite possible that it is not even for injustice 3 or Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters, but something less exciting like Mortal Kombat 11 movie skins.
Unfortunately, now, we’re in the same boat as Mortal combat and Injustice fans, which means that we have nothing more than just speculation.
Testing … Testing … are these things still linked ?! Cleaning the dust and getting ready for the next show! 🎥 🎬 @NetherRealm #WhatsInStore 🤔 #FaceCapture #Capture motion #SystemsCheck #FacialAnimation pic.twitter.com/DMbxUqwKpx
