Mortal Kombat co-creator and creative director of NetherRealm Studios, Ed Boon, recently shared a fantastic video compilation of a few different movements from Mortal Kombat 11Jax is recreated on a zero budget. The video, which is by independent filmmaker Ayo The Creator, includes Fatal Blow and Fatality by Jax Briggs recreated with the help of props such as a can of Pringles.
The video, which Boon shared on Twitter, is a good one-on-one recreation of Jax’s two moves with slow-motion framing and character angles in line with the game’s actual movements. Although there is a toy gun holder used at one point to replace Jax’s gun, it is actually the Pringles can mentioned – or they can be “cans” with the flicker effect that appears to be a green and a red can switch forward and back – – in place of the explosive that actually sells it. Jax’s “zero budget” video is far from the only one in this style by Ayo the Creator. Their Instagram is full of different videos, including other Mortal Kombat videos like this one featuring Scorpion and Sub-Zero facing off. Since they seem to be aware that Ed Boon is noticing them, we can only imagine what more will be done in the future.
The all-in-one Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox series consoles, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia. It basically includes everything that has been released up to this point – except the most recent skin packs – for the fighting game along with the recent DLC Kombat Pack 2 featuring Rain, Mileena and Rambo.
