Morgan Wallen suffered another blow amid the consequences of a leaked video, showing it using a racial slur, and will no longer be eligible for one of the biggest awards in country music.
The 27-year-old country star was recently captured on video using the word N.
Their record label, Big Loud, announced that it has suspended its recording contract “indefinitely”, while iHeartRadio told Fox News that they chose to remove their “music and content” from their stations.
Wallen is no longer eligible for this year’s Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards.

In a statement released on social media on Wednesday, ACM announced it had barred “Wallen’s potential involvement and eligibility for the 56th cycle of the Academy of Country Music Awards”.

“The Academy does not tolerate or support intolerance or behavior that does not align with our commitment and dedication to diversity and dedication,” continued the statement, promising to “streamline” the diversity training available to the “country music artist community”.
Finally, the Academy said it would review its “award eligibility and application process” to ensure that “the nominees consistently reflect the integrity of the Academy”.
After the video was shared by TMZ, Wallen publicly apologized for his actions.

“I am ashamed and sorry,” Wallen said in a statement shared with Fox News.
“I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slander that I wish I could remove,” he continued. “There is no excuse for using that kind of language, ever. I sincerely want to apologize for using that word. I promise to do better.”
That didn’t stop the country music community from criticizing your comments, however.

On Twitter, singer Maren Morris pointed out that “this is not his first ‘fight’ and he just demolished a huge streaming disc last month. We all know it wasn’t the first time he used that word.”

Other country stars, like Kelsea Ballerini and Mickey Guyton, also condemned Wallen’s actions.
The star also caught fire last year, when it was filmed at a crowded party that seemed to disregard coronavirus safety recommendations.

The incident caused “Saturday Night Live” to kick the “Wasted on You” singer from that weekend’s show, although he was rescheduled for a later date.
