Morgan Wallen ineligible for 2021 ACM Awards after Racial Slur

The voting of the first round for the ACM awards has already been concluded (19-26 January). The second round vote is scheduled for February 10-17. The final vote is scheduled for March 17-24. The award will air on April 18 on CBS.

Wallen would likely receive several important nominations for the next show, including male artist of the year, single of the year and music of the year. Your current album, Dangerous: the double album, which ruled the Billboard 200 for the past three weeks, would not have been eligible: it launched on January 8, too late to meet the ACM Award eligibility limit on December 31. But Wallen would have been eligible for his hits “More Than My Hometown” and “7 Summers”.

Shortly after ACM announced its decision, rival CMA Awards announced that it is removing Wallen’s digital content from its platforms. “We support our Country Music partners to act quickly,” said the CMA, adding that it will consider additional measures.
