He’s the voice of God – but that still doesn’t mean that people trust him.
Morgan Freeman recorded a public service ad urging people to “trust” him and get his COVID-19 vaccines – but Twitter was unable to decide on Tuesday whether the actor should be considered infallible when it comes to recommending vaccines.
“I’m Morgan Freeman. I’m not a doctor. But I trust science. And they told me that, for some reason, people trust me, ”says the 83-year-old actor, who portrayed God in films like“ Bruce Almighty, ”he says in the clip.
“So, here I am to say that I trust science and received the vaccine. If you trust me, you will get the vaccine.
“In mathematics, this is called distributive property,” says Morgan in the ad for Creative Coalition, a nonprofit organization run by actors.
“In people, this is called taking care of each other. Get the vaccine. Help make our world a safe place to have fun again. Please.”
The announcement of the gray-haired star – just the last actor to make such a PSA promoting immunizations – sparked a debate on Twitter about whether Hollywood types should be promoting the controversial photos.
“Hey, let’s follow the medical advice from actors who lie to live. What could go wrong?” a poster tweeted.
Another person wrote, “I don’t know Morgan Freeman personally, so how could I trust him? As for politicians, I don’t trust any of them ”.
Somebody tweeted more, “Morgan Freeman is a great actor. Unfortunately, there is no actor in the world who can provide ten-year security data about your experimental technology, so I don’t care who you pay to beg me to get one. I’m not.”
But the ad also had many supporters.
“I Trust Science … and Morgan Freeman get the Vaccine,” a person tweeted.
Other tweeter wrote, “Great video. I trust Morgan Freeman. I get my second shot next week!”
