More than 2M doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – Health professionals have administered more than 2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wisconsin.

According to the most recent data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, 2,015,127 doses of the vaccine have been administered since the arrival of the first shipment of the vaccine in December 2020.

As of Monday afternoon, 21.6% of Wisconsin residents had received at least one dose of the vaccine; that’s a total of 1,258,563 people who had at least one chance. Nearly 710,000 Wisconsin residents, about 12.3% of the state’s population, completed their vaccination series.

The most recent milestone for the vaccine comes when state health officials confirm 294 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of lifelong cases in the state to 569,932.

Health officials did not report further deaths on Monday. A total of 6,536 Wisconsin residents have died of COVID-19 complications since the pandemic began, just over a year ago.

Last week, DHS announced that about 2 million Wisconsin residents with selected health conditions will soon be eligible for vaccination. DHS added restaurant staff to the list of people eligible for vaccination a few days later.
