New “exciting” features are about to arrive for the Xbox Series X | s this year, according to Microsoft’s director of program management, Jason Ronald.
Regarding the latest edition of the official Xbox podcast (via VGC), Ronald noted that the newest Xbox consoles are still very young and that “in the coming months” we will hear more announcements about how Microsoft plans to update them.
“As a team, we are very excited about the initial response from fans around the world,” he explains on the podcast (below). “At launch, we say it all the time internally, this is just the beginning. We have a lot of really exciting things that are happening in the coming months and years. “
“There’s a lot to come … we can’t say much,” added program director Larry Hryb in the podcast. “I think we’re going to have [Ronald back on the show] sooner or later. “
Ronald noted that the Xbox team took a well-deserved break in November “to sit back and just listen to the community and hear how people are using the consoles, what they’re excited about, areas we can improve on,” but now the team is ready to start releasing more updates.
First of all, it looks like Microsoft is focused on updating the Xbox Mobile app with achievement tracking and streaming updates, DVR quality enhancements and quick summary adjustments will all be in preparation for the consoles.
“We had to disable Quick Resume on some titles in the launch window,” explained Ronald. “The team has been working hard to be able to reactivate these titles, so that people have an excellent and fast experience in all the titles they are playing.
“All of these areas are of high priority to us, as we are looking at future updates in the coming months and you may start to see some of these experiences on Insider rings very soon,” he added.
Despite some initial problems, the launch of the Xbox Series S | X was a good launch for Microsoft; we even heard that the Xbox Series X / S was the best selling platform in the UK in January.
