Monster Hunter Rise is no longer an exclusive switch, coming to the PC in 2022

We are exactly a month away from Monster Hunter Rise’s early release. Launching on March 26, it is a welcome return from Capcom’s action RPG series for Nintendo platforms, after we lost 2018 Monster Hunter World. Initially announced as an exclusive switch, Capcom has just confirmed that Rise is coming to the PC – something that was reported recently after Capcom’s data hack.

In an interview with Fanbyte, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Yasunori Ichinose revealed that the PC version will not be released until 2022, saying the port “is still in development”. Nothing has been mentioned about other consoles, so for now, Monster Hunter Rise remains an exclusive console for Switch.

There is no reason for Switch fans to worry about this, as the duo confirmed how they “set out to make a game for the Switch”, fully aware of the console’s shortcomings in doing so. This includes a strong focus on portability, advising that the gameplay is designed around “being able to pick up and play whenever you want”.

The way it is, Stories of Monster Hunter 2: Wings of Ruin it still remains an exclusive switch. There is no news as to whether he will receive a PC port as well, but we also cannot rule it out, considering that it is cross-compatible with Rise. We are waiting for more details about this functionality, so we will keep you informed as we learn more.
