A thief left a British mother devastated after escaping with more than $ 5,000 in Christmas gifts – including gifts for her disabled son.
That was until kind-hearted strangers came to the rescue, according to a report.
Courtney Farnell, 21, spent the year struggling to give her 16-month-old daughter the “best Christmas a mother could give”, but instead went into a looted house on Christmas Eve, The Sun reported.
“We came through the front door,” Farnell told the newspaper. “I got Minnie out of the car and approached home. I could see all of my belongings everywhere. “
“All those present are gone,” she said. “Everything I won for my family, for my daughter.”

Courtney, who lives in Leeds, in the north of England, said she took her daughter for a 30-minute walk on Wednesday night to calm her down and returned home around midnight on Thursday to find that thieves had invaded your home.
The stolen gifts included new Xbox and PlayStation consoles, a laptop, a camera and gifts for her daughter, Courtney said on a GoFundMe page she set up.
“I’m heartbroken that I don’t even know how many Christmases we have with Minnie,” she wrote. “She has brain damage, epilepsy, delays in global development and more. All I wanted was an incredible Christmas for her. “
“I spent until the last penny to make this Christmas special for her and I was left with nothing.”
His cry for help did not go unnoticed.
On Christmas morning, her fundraising page raised more than $ 4,000 – more than double the amount she had requested.
