A Missouri woman is in police custody after allegedly trying to hit a police officer with a car.
Early Tuesday, Springfield Police said the incident unfolded in a parking lot after a policeman spotted a parked vehicle that had been stolen.
The suspect fled the scene, but has already been located and is currently in custody.
However, police continue to search for the suspect vehicle. The vehicle is a 2012 Chrysler 200 4 brown with the RB1D5F plate from Missouri. (2/3)

According to authorities, the officer tried to question the driver, who has since been identified as Maggie Thrift, 27. While trying to interrogate her, the police said the suspect tried to flee the scene and even tried to hit one of the policemen with the vehicle while she was walking away.

“At that time, three different policemen fired on the vehicle,” noted Springfield police chief Paul Williams. “The vehicle fled north in Maine and was not found at that time.”
Williams added that the officer suffered a minor injury but did not need much medical attention.
“He’s already been treated,” said Williams of the officer. “[And] released and sent home. “
The vehicle was later found abandoned in a separate location. Thrift was also found and arrested with minor injuries. She was reportedly wanted by several warrants.
